| Description: | Responsible for providing the overall leadership, direction and support for the Kiwanis-branded service and leadership development programs for youth and young adults. |
| Duties: |
Leadership Team: - Work closely with the members of the Leadership Team to ensure the appropriate level of cross-functional coordination with other departments by discussing special projects, timelines and issues impacting the organization
- Participate in meetings of the Leadership Team to achieve the strategic objectives of the Organization and the International Office
- Collaborate on new ideas and solutions for current organization and department issues
- Understand interdependencies and requirements across the Organization to provide quality and efficient service to both internal and external customers
Global Impact Team: - Work closely with the members of the Global Impact Team to develop supporting goals, strategies, plans and budgets in order to achieve the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the Organization and the International Office
- Participate in Global Impact Team meetings and daily huddles
- Provide department status updates
- Ensure coordination of communications across the Global Impact Team
- Identify, address and resolve Global Impact Team issues
Department Responsibilities: - Responsible for the supervision and management of the department and staff
- Provide communication, direction and leadership based on Executive Management Team and Global Impact Team directives
- Carry out department activities to meet all business needs and requirements of the International Office
- Accountable for all communication developed and executed from the Kiwanis Youth Programs department
- Develop and manage department budgets
- Conduct department meetings
- Hire, motivate, recognize & reward, coach, counsel and train department staff
- Develop, implement and evaluate department performance measures
- Conduct performance reviews of all direct reports
- Responsible for supervision and oversight of the Kiwanis-branded service and leadership programs for youth and young adults, including Circle K, Key Club, Key Leader, Builders Club, elementary school programs, Aktion Club
- Accountable for all communications developed and executed from the department
- Oversight of Kiwanis-branded service and children’s programs including Kiwanis One Day, Read Around the World, and Young Children: Priority One
- Create opportunities for growth and partnership for Kiwanis-branded programs
- Responsible for aligned leadership curricula for the organization
- Coordinate cross-functional development and maintenance of leadership curricula for various Kiwanis programs
- Indentify and maximize internal and external resources in support of leadership program delivery

| Qualifications: |
Educational Requirements: - Masters degree in education, leadership, or equivalent
Experiential Requirements: - Building effective teams

- Conflict Management
- 5-7 years of leadership development and training programs in high school, higher education or not-for-profit environment
- 5-7 years experience at a mid or senior management role with oversight of several department managers
- Experience in the training of youth and/or young adults (high school and college)
- Demonstrated creative ability and writing proficiency
- Good public speaker able to moderate small to large groups
Skills Requirements: - Microsoft Office Suite products
- Microsoft Outlook – utilization of calendar and management tools
- Internet Proficiency
- Social media networking
Other Requirements: - Doctorate degree a plus
- Kiwanis Family or service club experience a plus
- Domestic travel required
- Some international travel required
- Weekend work required
